Officer Austin Williams
LONE PEAK HIGH SCHOOL
I grew up in Las Vegas and moved up to Utah after high school to go to college and attended Utah Valley University with a major in psychology. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for two years in and around the area of Calgary Canada. In 2007, I graduated from the UVU police academy and was hired by the Provo Police Department. On 2009, I was selected, along with two other officers, to start a police motorcycle program in Provo. I worked as a motor officer for 4 years before being certified as a motorcycle instructor. I returned to patrol for a couple of years and then was selected to serve in Provo High School as their School Resource Officer and held that position for three years loving the opportunity to work with and guide the students.
I was hired on with the Lone Peak Police Department in November of 2022. A few months later in March, I was assigned to Lone Peak High School as their School Resource Officer getting to use my passion of working with students and troubled teens.
As an officer, I truly try to treat everyone with the respect and compassion that I would want my own family members to be treated with. I believe that almost all people are good to the core and are either making poor decisions or are dealing with tough situations. As I serve our citizens, I look for ways to remind people of their potential and unlock the good in themselves to be the best version of who they want to be.
