Ride Along Program / Request

The participant must be at least 18 years of age. (or legal guardian consent to participate)
Participants shall not be permitted to ride more frequently than once every 12 months.
Persons shall not be permitted to ride for more than 3 hours.
Participants must first pass a department background check. Background check will consist of a minimum of the following: Department Records Check, Driver’s License Status Check, and warrant or wanted persons check.
Participants will dress in appropriate office or business casual attire.
While on the ride-along participants shall immediately and without question comply with all orders or directions given by an officer.
Ride-along participants shall always be properly restrained in a seat belt when the departmnet vehicle is in motion.
At not time will a participant who is not a P.O.S.T. Certified Utah Police Officer be allowed to be in possession of a firearm or any other weapon.
Participants shall not be permitted to possess or use cameras, audio/video recorders, flashlights, or any other equipment, without prior authorization of the shift supervisor.
Participants shall not interfere or otherwise obstruct an officer in the performacne of his/her duties.
A ride-along may be terminated at any time by the assigned officer or Shift Supervisor.
